A popular summer series is set to return to the downtown area beginning at 5 p.m. May 6 and continuing the first Friday of each month until August.
Sponsored by Main Street Elizabethton, City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department, and Carter County Tourism, the event is a celebration of the downtown area featuring live music, extended shopping, local dining experiences, family friendly activities, and much more.
More than 20 downtown businesses will offer extended shopping, sidewalk sales, dining experiences, and special First Friday features. Live music will fill the streets with activities designed for families available in the breeze ways.
The Elizabethton River Riders will be in the ‘Betsy Breezeway next to Jiggy Ray’s, offering fun games as well as a meet and greet with the head coach.
The Kindest People will be the featured artist on stage at Covered Bridge Park from 7 to 9 p.m. on May 6. Other scheduled performers for First Fridays include Preston Benfield (June 3), Big Son (July 1), and Florencia & the Feeling (Aug. 5). Everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the music which is sponsored by Carter County Bank.
Other activities scheduled at Covered Bridge Park for families to enjoy is a Food Truck Rally in May and the Firefly 5K Run/Walk benefiting Main Street Elizabethton returns in July.
Early-bird registration is open and can be found on the Main Street Elizabethton website.
