July 4, 2014 — what a perfect time to recognize and thank all of our veterans for their service to the best country in the world and that’s just what the members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 49 did on Wednesday, July 2. The members filled 59 bags and delivered them to the veterans in the six nursing homes in Carter County.

It is such a heartwarming pleasure to see the appreciation in their faces for something so little when they gave so much. Each day we should be thankful for all those who have served and those presently serving in the Armed Forces to keep our country free.

God Bless each and every one and their families and God Bless America.
