The Milligan cross country season is off and running.
The Buffaloes opened the 2014 season on Friday as both the men and women ran to second-place finishes at the Buffalo Stampede on Buffalo Valley Golf Course in Erwin.
For the Buffaloes, the home meet is a great way to start the season and build off the success of last season’s inaugural meet.
“We had a great meet last year, and it seems like it was yesterday,” Milligan head coach Chris Layne said. “The environment last year was awesome last year, and I think it was the same thing this year if not even better. The energy was there. It pumped the kids up. It is neat to be able to sleep in your own bed and race in front of your home crowd. It is priceless for us.”
