It was a wet mess for the golfers competing at Elizabethton Golf Course Thursday as the Millgan Lady Buffaloes faced off against the Mars Hill Lions in the Border Battle.

Even though conditions were not favorable, Milligan’s sophomore Ann Sullivan captured the medalist status with a Stableford Format score of 30 as she led her team to a 167-112 victory.

“I’m glad we were able to get back into the swing of things,” Sullivan said. “Especially in these conditions. It was really wet. It made you hit a couple of more certain shots. You have to hit a longer club in, because it was really wet, and you were not getting the roll that you wanted. But for the most part, I mean, it is a golf course, and it all about placement off of the tee.”
