An injury-plagued early portion of 2013-14 saw the Milligan College Lady Buffaloes fall a bit short of their mission to capture the Appalachian Athletic Conference title and a return to Sioux City, Iowa, for the national tournament.

But once healthy, the Lady Buffs made a strong charge in the conference tournament — falling 72-67 to champion Union College in the final.

“First of all, as far as last years team goes, I felt pretty good about the way we finished,” said Lady Buffs head coach Rich Aubrey. “The tournament was a good week for us and when you go into the tournament as a number three or four seed you want to give yourself a chance, and we gave ourselves a chance.”
